At Hail Mary Football, we believe that the appropriate way to list players going into your draft is through categorical tiers, rather than traditional rankings. Those groupings can be found on our “Tiers” link at the top of this page. If you are looking for traditional numerical rankings, see the “Fantasy Advice” Link at the top of this page. Articles will be posted prior to the start of each season ranking different positions. But to reiterate, we at HMF prefer categorical tiers to rankings because linear rankings fail to account for the dynamics of your specific team needs during your draft and during the course of the fantasy football season. On this site, we go through the additional effort of grouping players categorically according to specific characteristics, as that will better help you construct an optimal roster - and hopefully lead to more wins for your fantasy squad.
Hail Mary Football was founded by Lee Metzger, a shameless fantasy football junkie. He played and analyzed this silly game for over two decades before launching Hail Mary Football. This site offers FREE fantasy football advice, as well as some off-the-cuff opinions on various topics in pro football. Most of the advice comes directly from Lee, but occasionally there will be guest pieces authored by other experts who love the game.
A trial lawyer by trade, Lee's perspective is different than most other fantasy analysts you will read. He was trained to challenge assumptions, to make decisions based upon provable facts, and to be able to argue both sides of an issue. The analysis given on this site reflects that training.
The goal of Hail Mary Football is not to make you agree with us. Our goal is to make you think, and to help you win. Because better fantasy owners make the game more fun for all of us.
